As a strategic move ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in the State, the main Opposition party Congress on Monday launched State-wide 'lok Darbar' in order to address 'people's issues' pending with the BJP-ruled State Government.
The first 'lok Darbar' was organised at Utkantheshwar situated in the leader of Opposition, Shankersinh Vaghela's Assembly constituency Kapadwanj on the auspicious day of 'Akhatrij'. From now onwards, 'lok Darbar' will be held in all the districts of Gujarat for next three months.
On this occasion, Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president Bharatsinh Solanki launched a dedicated website www.lokdarbar.in and a mobile app to make the initiative high-tech and reach a large number of people.
During lok Darbars senior Congress leaders will listen to people's issues related to employment, agriculture, trade and commerce, infrastructure like roads, drinking water problem, irrigation, transportation, land related problems, inflation, minority issues, education, corruption in Government system, pollution and environment etc.
The Congress leaders not only listen to people's problem but they would distribute a form during such lok Darbars in which applicants can mention their problems and the Congress cadre would represent them to the authority concerned to resolve them.
"Those who would not be able to attend lok Darbar physically can also send their problems through the website or the mobile app. The Congress leaders will sincerely try to address their problems and tell them about the status of issues in a fortnight,” said Vaghela while addressing people at the lok Darbar in Utkandheshwar.
