With an eye on the civic body polls in the national Capital in 2017, the Congress on Wednesday attacked both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for “ruining” Delhi for the last two years.
“The people of Delhi gave seven out of seven seats to the BJP in the lok Sabha and 67 seats out of 70 to the AAP in Vidhan Sabha and in return they got a mess where sanitation workers, nurses, doctors and engineers are begging on the streets to register their protest. Governance in the Capital has come to a standstill and the NCT is ruined on their hands,” AICC spokesman Ajoy Kumar said at the Press briefing.
looking ahead to return power in Delhi after miserably losing the Delhi Assembly polls twice and its base in the civic bodies, the party also attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for reducing one of the top Capital cities of the world till two years ago into a podium for incessant dogfight between Modi and Kejriwal. Kumar added Delhi with unique constitutional status and multiplicity of authorities and overlapping jurisdiction was managed efficiently for 15 years.
Kumar took a swipe at the Delhi CM saying that he has finally decided to look at Delhi through a “periscope” in Bengaluru and all that he came up with only blames, theater, drama and misleading half-truths.
The party also alleged the AAP Government has cut funds drastically from `1,000 crore as was done by the previous Congress Government till 2012-13 to mere `1 crore under the budget head 2015-16.
