Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh accused Congress Government in Karnataka led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of dividing the State communally. Addressing the State BJP’s month old Parivartan Yatra led by BS Yeddyurappa in Bengaluru on Sunday he blamed Siddaramaiah Government of communally polarising the State for gains.
He said “Congress Government here wants to divide Karnataka community to rule.
I received information that even though there is no such regulation in the constitution, Muslim community here was befooled with reservation which was later out ruled by the Court.”
“Paresh Mesta was recently killed. What is this Govt doing in these murder casesIJ Gauri lankesh was killed. I want to assure Karnataka public that when our Govt is formed, we will probe her death from all angles, and culprits will be punished. We won’t save anyone” he added.
For both the ruling Congress and for the major Opposition BJP Karnataka is crucial and ensuing Assembly polls is testing ground for Congress president Rahul Gandhi who is playing soft Hindutava politics after Gujarat.
On Rahul Gandhi becoming President he said “I want to congratulate him (Rahul Gandhi) but also ask- did the fire of communalism, terrorism & Naxalism in India erupt due to BJP’s policiesIJ Did fire erupt in Kashmir erupt due to BJP’s policiesIJ If someone formed Governments by setting the fire, it is Congress. BJP is trying to douse it.”
He also announced that the BJP will be fighting the upcoming State Assembly elections under the leadership of former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh accompanied by BJP State chief B.S. Yeddyurappa, Union Minister Ananth Kumar and Sadananda Gowda and other leaders participated in the rally. Yeddyurappa has undertaken parivarthan yatra, a tour across the State under the instructions from party national president Amit Shah to counter the appeasement politics of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
The BJP is making all efforts to make Congress mukth Karnataka in the ensuing elections scheduled to be held in 2018. Poll pundits observe that Karnataka will be the real testing ground for Rahul Gandhi who has taken over as the Congress President two days back. After witnessing Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s temple hopping and practicing soft Hindutva in Gujarat, a perceptional change to woo Hindu voters, to counter BJP, in the election bound Karnataka Congress leaders too are following their leader to counter the major Opposition BJP following the new mantra of Hindutva politics.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who has taken a one month poll yatra called Karnataka Nava Nirmana from Wednesday to counter Yeddyurappa’s parivarthana yatra to launch development projects across the State has more than one time spoke about himself being a Hindu.
Some of his Ministers have already started saying they were Hindus to counter BJP’s Hindutva politics a new found strategy adopted post Gujarat elections.
In the impending elections Siddaramaiah stressed the spelling of his name which has Rama in it. Apart from temple hopping a change the congress leaders have started talking about Hindu and Hindutva a new idiom in the century old party.
