The Congress forced a brief adjournment of the Rajya Sabha proceedings on Tuesday over the issue of controversial remarks by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy in Guwahati recently. Raising the issue, Pramod Tewari (Congress) said secularism is the foundation of Indian democracy and charged Swamy of subverting it by his remarks. Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien asked Tewari to raise the matter in Zero Hour but the Congress members were not satisfied and moved into aisle shouting slogans against the BJP-led Government. Tele-communication Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad was heard saying in the din that the Congress was desperate to raise the matter as it was exposed on Monday on the issue of alleged snooping of Rahul Gandhi.
