Cong demands PM's resignation over failure of demonetisation

Accusing Bharatiya Janta Party leaders of indulging  in corruption in the name of ‘cashless’ economy, Congress leader and Rajya Sabha Member Pramod Tiwari, demanded resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on moral grounds for not ending the problem of the public due to demonetisation after 50 days. He said that BJP should issue a white paper on the expenditure made for Monday’s flop rally in lucknow.

“Cashless has now turned into a big scam for the BJP Government. Modi was asking people to go cashless and even promoting a Chinese company Paytm for his vested interest”, charged Tewari while adding that BJP leaders were having their ‘share’ for the profit earned through commission by such companies.  He also asked that BJP should disclose the details of Monday's rally.

“The Party should disclose how did it made the payments of the buses and other expenditure during the rally, which they claimed was a historic and more than one million people have attended”, asserted Tewari.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday afternoon, the RS member said Narendra Modi has lost his morale to rule the country after his promise to end the problem of the people of the country after 50 days was turned out to be just a mockery. He further questioned Modi that the PM in his rally on Monday had said that the Kalyan Singh government in UP was the most efficient and honest Government. "Did Modi know that there were 19 criminals, history-sheeters and absconders in Kalyan's cabinet besides that BJP government gave rise to politician-criminal nexus in UP politics," he stated.

Meanwhile, the Congress leader refused to speak on the ongoing infighting in the ruling Samajwadi Party in UP but said that he was saddened on the way the things a happening. "It is the internal matter of the SP and thus no one should intervene," he stated.
