During the last 64 years after Independence, Congress party is indulging merely in creating illusions which are actually the base
of its politics. After giving the promises for controlling the inflation within 100 days after coming to power, the grand old party is hardly able to put a brake on the spiralling prices of even essential commodities in four and half years. The Bharatiya Janata Party Government in the State on the other hand has given the people the Right to Food and Nutrition. Now, the ball is in people’s court to decide the efficacy,” said Chief Minister Raman Singh.
launching a broadside against the Central UPA Government led by Congress at the party workers meeting organised separately at Pandaria and Kawardha, Singh in an emotional appeal to party workers said that since it was a test of his image, they should start working devotedly by visiting village by village and booth by booth convincing electorate to favour the party.
Singh said that even as the Assembly polls are held in five States, nation’s eye is on the outcome of Chhattisgarh. We have worked exclusively for poor during the last 10 years while the Central Government summarily failed to rein in inflation leading to 100 per cent rise in prices of food grains and petroleum products. For maintaining the pace of prosperity in Chhattisgarh the people would once again have to strengthen the BJP he added.
“We have concertedly worked in favour of Gaon Garib and Kisan (Village, poor and farmers) making exclusive schemes for them. Now, the time has come for people to compare our 10 years work with that of 60 years achievements of Congress. It is our earnest wish that BJP should make a hat-trick of Government formation in Chhattisgarh,” Singh urged.
Asking party workers to immediately start working devotedly for the ‘lotus’ sign at booth level, the Chief Minister said that the party would soon announce the names of candidates for both Pandaria and Kawardha Assembly seats.
