As Assembly elections are coming closer, political parties have started blaming each other as on Tuesday Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel trained his guns on Opposition Congress saying that the oldest political party in the country can go up to the extent of inviting terrorists like Hafiz Saeed if it helped it to form a Government.
Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of Gujarat BJP’s parliamentary board meeting, Patel said that if Congress would feel it can win the Assembly polls in Gujarat by joining hands with Pakistan-based terrorists, without any hesitation, the party would send the invitation including that of Hafiz Saeed.
It is worth mentioning that Hafiz, who heads Jamaat-ud-Dawaa, is the mastermind behind the 2008 Mumbai terror attack and carries a bounty of US$10 million offered by US Government since 2014.
Reacting on Rahul Gandhi’s rally in the State capital (Gandhi Nagar) on Monday afternoon, Patel said that Congress had resorted to caste-based politics by invoking its decades old KHAM theory (Kshatriya, Harijan, Adivasi and Muslim) conceived by the then Chief Minister Madhavsinh Solanki in 1980s.
On the contrary, BJP practices Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas and wanted to give fruits of development to everybody in the community, he said, adding that continuing to indulge in the divide and rule policy of colonial rule.
According to him, the Vijay Rupani Government has been making over last fortnight for various sections of the society before Election Commission officially invokes the code of conduct by announcing elections in the State. On Tuesday, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the State would now bear the GST levied on equipment deployed by farmers for drip irrigation.
