'Cong blocking NIA report on Jeeram attack'

The Congress at the Centre was hindering the National Investigation Agency’s probe into the Jeeram Valley Maoist attack, alleged Dr Shivnarayan Dwivedi, who had resigned from the Congress, here in a Press conference on Wednesday.

Dwivedi had submitted his resignation from the post of secretary of the Pradesh Congress. He met Chief Minister Raman Singh on Tuesday but has not yet joined the BJP as of now.

“The Congress and its president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi are well aware of the role of the State leaders during the Jeeram bloodbath. They are trying to suppress the NIA so that the evil-doings of its party workers is not exposed in front of everyone,” Dwivedi alleged.

He alleged that Congress State in-charge BK Hariprasad had tampered with the NIA report. Taking an aggressive stand, he said, “I will put in all my efforts to pull Congress down in the lok Sabha elections and campaign against the party which betrayed its own members and martyrs.”

Talking about the upcoming lok Sabha elections, Dwivedi said that at least three out of 11 seats have been sold by the party to the highest bidders, which includes Raipur and Rajnandgaon constituencies.

Repeating his allegations, Dwivedi also said that the death of a senior leader of the Congress party, Nand Kumar Patel, was plotted and executed by Congress agents. “The party did not want Patel to be alive and he was a very powerful politician.”

Dwivedi also took a potshot at the Congress for not giving lok Sabha ticket to Pratibha Pandey, daughter of martyred Congress leader VC Shukla. “The Congress has only shed crocodile tears on the Jeeram attack and the death of its top leaders. The whole incident was planned by the party and it does not want the NIA probe report to come out.”
