Congress on Sunday attacked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his statement in Kabul that Pakistan is a bridge between Afghanistan and India.
“We heard the speech of Prime Minister and it was interesting. But more interesting was his mention that India Afghanistan relationship will be built by a bridge in Pakistan. These are two sovereign nations. Do we need bridges built by PakistanIJ We are independent nations and we are capable of dealing with each other without bridges from Pakistan,” said at Congress spokesman Tom Vadakkan.
Congress also attacked BJP for always opposing former PM Manmohan Singh’s dream to visit Pakistan wherein they are not questioning now Modi’s three-nation visit where he said he had breakfast in one country, lunch in another and dinner in a third country.
Vadakkan also took a jibe at the Prime Minister over his ‘Narendra Modi Mobile App’, saying it will at least help him stay connected with problems of the farmer, poor, minorities and dalits in the country as he is busy all the time travelling across the world.
“We are happy that he has announced an app in which he has said you can send your grievances directly to him. He is a very busy person. The PM has to travel. His connect was excellent when he was not the Prime Minister. He used to talk to people and communicate. Since he is the PM, he has been extremely busy and now you have an app in place which can ensure that there is communication with people in India. This communication will help improve relations in India at least so that women and minorities are protected,” Congress spokesperson Tom Vaddakan said.
Vadakkan said Modi can also address the issue of intolerance through this app.”Farmers can address their grievances directly, unemployment can be addressed through the app. If there is a situation disturbing, like a riot, intolerance in any part of the country, you can address it to the PM directly without having any emissary,” the Congress spokesperson said.
