Concerned Bihar CM speaks to Khattar on Ryan school murder

A visibly concerned Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar spoke to his Haryana counterpart Manohar lal Khattar twice over the gruesome murder of a seven-year old boy Pradyuman Thakur in Ryan International School at Gurugram and urged him for an impartial enquiry into the incident and prompt action against the perpetrators of the crime and those found responsible for it.

Nitish said in Patna on Monday that it was a heart wrenching incident and immediate action was required. “I spoke to Khattar yesterday and he said he was monitoring the case. Our DGP also contacted the DGP of Haryana and also the Police Commissioner of Gurugram in this connection. Our Resident Commissioner in New Delhi also went there and met the bereaved family. I again spoke to Khattar this morning after having talks with mother and uncle of the victim and urged him that to honour the wishes of the family an impartial enquiry should be held and I am confident that the CM will do it because he himself is quite concerned about the incident,” said Nitish.

Pradyuman’s family belongs to Bihar’s Madhubani district. The child was knifed to death by a school bus driver inside the washroom of the school where the child went to relieve just before the prayer session. The driver was suspected to have attempted to physically assault the child and when failed slit his throat with a kitchen knife.

The CM said he sent his emissary Sanjay Jha to meet and console the bereaved family and through him spoke to mother and uncle of the murdered child. This is a heinous crime and we all are highly concerned. We want that the family should get justice and perpetrators of the crime booked.

On RJD chief lalu Prasad’s attack on him for the multi crore rupees Srijan scam of Bhagalpur, Nitish said, “I had brought this scam in public domain on August 9 and recommended for CBI inquiry. If anybody has lack of faith in the CBI, he is free to move to the high court or Supreme Court and make appeal for judicial monitoring since the Government has no such jurisdiction to request for.”

Referring to the rally by RJD which was addressed among others by lalu and his sons Tejashwi Prasad and Tej Pratap Yadav on Sunday at Bhagalpur, Nitish said, “The programme at Bhagalpur was a suicidal nukkad natak. With the investigation going on I can’t go for a public debate. He is free to speak but I don’t take notice of such talks.”
