Con woman may spill beans today

Saritha S Nair, one of the main perpetrators of Kerala’s infamous solar scam, is likely to disclose on Saturday details of the powerful people who had taken money from her even as the High Court has sharply criticised the Prosecution for seeking postponement of the bail plea of scam-accused actress Shalu Menon.

Saritha’s counsel Fenni Balakrishnan said on Friday that Saritha had decided to reveal the names and other details of the powerful people who had associated with her in her fraudulent operations because she felt that she could be killed once she was out of prison. Saritha, arrested on June3, is presently in judicial custody.

The lawyer said that he would disclose the details of the people who had taken money from Saritha after talking with her when she would be produced in the court on Saturday. “Saritha fears that she could get killed once she is out of prison. In such an event, all the records concerning the case could be lost. She wants to avoid such a situation,” he said.

Fenni Balakrishnan said that it was yet to be decided whether the statement on these details should be given in the court or to the police.
