The Congress on Monday attacked the Centre over the boat terror incident and asked the Government to out come clean on the conflicting reports in the media regarding the attack. Commending the “valiant efforts” of the Coast Guard for foiling such an incident, the party said that every citizen of the country, however, has the right to question the Government and know certain facts. The party also asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take the matter in a very stern manner with Pakistan if “it was a terror attack”.
“We request the spokespersons of the BJP to stop making public relation events out of issues of national security. It is our right as the Opposition to question the conflicting reports in the media. Every citizen of this country has the right to question the Government, they cannot brand them as Pakistanis,” Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said.
“The Government should come clean on it. There is no evidence. How can you say that a terrorist attack was preventedIJ” Surjewala said a day after Ajoy Kumar demanded a probe into the incident.
