War veteran and Vir Chakra recipient Colonel Anil Kaul will contest the forthcoming lok Sabha election from New Delhi constituency. He will be contest election on the ticket of Nav Bharat Democratic Party, said party president RK Misra on Thursday.
Kaul received Vir Chakra for his valiant actions during his stint with IPKF operations in Sri lanka in 1987. He lost his right eye and suffered injury in his left hand in a rocket launcher attack while saving 250 lives.
“It is the same strength of character and dedication that Indian polity requires to emerge out of the quagmire it finds itself in as of now. Precisely why we thought of none else but Col Kaul as our candidate from New Delhi lok Sabha constituency. He shall be entering a lion’s den and taking on some political stalwarts head on. However, with many battles under his belt, we are very confident that he will showcase the same exemplary grit and emerge as a winner yet again,” Misra said.
