CM's mann ki baat: Akhilesh committed to farmers' welfare

Taking a cue from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav did his “maan ki baat” with farmers and assured that his Government would do everything to ameliorate the grievances of the farming community. “I belong to a farmers’ family, therefore, I’m familiar with the plight of farmers. At this time of crisis the State Government is with you and will try to extend all possible help,” Yadav told farmers through a video conferencing here on Wednesday.

The video conferencing continued for 30 minutes, during which the farmers apprised the CM about the problems they are facing. Some of them alleged that farmers are not getting support from the officials. The Chief Minister suggested that each officer should adopt one village. They should ensure that farmers are getting basic facilities in these villages. “This will not only improve the delivery system but also guarantee that actual beneficiaries will get the benefits of the schemes,” Yadav said.

He said that during the field visits, the officers should take experts to the villages and try to solve farmers’ problems on the spot. “The SP Government is observing this year as Kisan Varsh. We have launched new schemes for the farming community so that the benefits could reach the farmers. Samajwadis always believe that farmers should get maximum benefit and we are working in this direction,” Chief Minister said.
