The Chief Minister said that Holi was the main festival of India's Sanatan tradition. “May this festival, a symbol of social equality, harmony and gaiety, be auspicious for the entire society and the people of the state,” he said. Yogi Adityanath said that the long series of festivals and celebrations was an example of India's ancient glorious tradition. He said in the Sanatan tradition, festivals were also an inspirational moment of gaiety and to strengthen the nationality. He said by giving religious recognition to important events of change in society and nation in the form of festivals, the country’s sage tradition provided the basis of inspiration and light to the next generation.

The chief minister said that the festival of Holi inspired people to fight against negative tendencies like unrighteousness, untruth and injustice. He said, “There is no place for mourning and anguish in our festivals, but these festivals symbolise joy, along with enthusiasm. We all have to maintain the purity and dignity of our festivals. From this point of view, no such work should be done, which breaks the dignity of the festivals.”

Giving eternal best wishes to the people of the state on the festival of harmony and gaiety, the chief minister said that the festival of Holi should be celebrated in a cordial and dignified manner. The chief minister appealed to the people to follow the protocol of COVID-19 in all the programmes organised on the occasion of Holi.
