General Manager (GM) of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) Debi Prasad Dash visited Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) here on Friday. At a meeting held at the Hall of Fame before the workshop visit, BLW GM Basudev Panda felicitated his counterpart of CLW by giving him a bouquet and a souvenir loco model. Both BLW and CLW are leading production units of the Indian Railways.
In the meeting organised with all the major department heads and senior officers of BLW, important technical aspects related to railway locomotive manufacturing were discussed and through a powerpoint presentation, Principal Chief Electrical Engineer (PCEE) SK Srivastava discussed BLW from its inception till now. He also gave detailed information about the achievements of BLW. Along with the production activities, other activities of BLW, loco production as well as various ongoing projects and future plans were discussed in detail.
After the meeting, CLW GM inspected the workshop area. On the occasion, Dash conducted a thorough inspection of Loco Frame Shop, Loco Assembly Shop, Loco Test Shop and New Block Shop of BLW. During the inspection, BLW GM and PCEE, along with Principal Chief Material Manager (BLW) Rajneesh Gupta, Chief Electrical Engineer (Loco) CLW MK Gupta, Chief Engineer (CLW) Abhijeet Chakraborty, Senior Deputy General Manager (BLW) Vijay and Chief Electrical Engineer (Loco) Arun Sharma and other officers of various departments were also present. During the visit, Debi Prasad Dash took information from the officials concerned about the production activities of electric railway locomotives, manufacturing facilities, ongoing projects in BLW as well as the production process and other technical subjects.
