With the increasing cases of cyber crime, white collar offences and cheating people through misleading SMS and phone calls, Hyderabad Police has issued an elaborate warning to the people with a list of ‘donts’.
Crime Investigation Department has urged the people to exercise caution while receiving the unknown calls specially from the phone number starting with +92 (International code of Pakistan). The callers from such numbers are also luring people by offering to sell gold at a cheaper price apart from making many other offers.
The warning was issued after a spate of incidents in which innocent mobile and Net user received SMS and mail informing them of winning huge lotteries running in crores of rupees using reputed names like BBC.
Youths have fallen prey to SMS offering lucrative jobs in big corporate companies or loans from the bank without guarantees. CID has also asked the people not to reveal their credit card details, pin number and other credentials even if the caller claims to be calling from the respective banks as they were leading to misuse of the cards.
