The ‘Bharat Bandh’ called by ‘Sanyukta Morcha’ received mixed response across Chhattisgarh including Raipur on Monday. Essential services were maintained during the Bandh including Health and Education. Government offices remained open during the Bandh while business establishments, petrol pumps and cinema halls remained closed.
Notably, the Morcha had called a country-wide Bandh against the recent Supreme Court Judgment about diluting the arrest under SC/ST Act 1989. Activists of Dalit organization right from the early morning took out a bike rally from Ambedkar Chowk appealing the shopkeepers to support the Bandh and down shutters.
