Describing the attack on a police official by MlAs as “unprecedented” in the history of Maharashtra legislature, Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Tuesday condemned the incident as “most reprehensible” and said the legislators, if found guilty, would not be spared.

Talking to mediapersons Chavan said: “The incident was a most reprehensible act, and I deplore it. The incident is being investigated by the Speaker and the State Government, and the guilty will not be spared”.

Chavan, however, refused to spell out what action would be taken and added that CCTV footage and mobile camera images of the attack were being examined.        PNS
