In a bid to increase pressure for the removal of tainted Ministers in the State, leader of Opposition in the Assembly N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday met Governor ESl Narasimhan. Accompanied by party’s MlAs and other elected representatives, Naidu submitted a memorandum urging the Governor to remove the Ministers facing charges of corruption.

He wanted action against the Ministers who were named in the CBI chargesheets in YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s disproportionate assets case and others against whom the Supreme Court had issued notices in the same case. The Ministers who have already been named in the chargesheets include Dharmana Prasad Rao and S Sabita Indra Reddy and others facing similar prospects including Ponnala lakshmiaha, J Geeta Reddy and Kanna lakshminarayana.

Similarly, the TDP also demanded action against the Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath whose name figured in the recent sting operation carried out by the Cobrapost in connection with money laundering.

At the same time, other parties have also raised the issue of the tainted Ministers in the backdrop of removal of two tainted Ministers from the Union Cabinet. Voices were also being raised from with in the ruling Congress party. Congress MlA JC Divakar Reddy said that it was natural for the Opposition to demand the removal of tainted Ministers and it was the duty of the CM to reply whether he will take action or not.

Reminding that the BJP was defeated in Karnataka because of corruption, Divakar Reddy warned that if the Congress has to avoid meeting the same fate in Andhra Pradesh, it will have to come clean and take action on the issue of corruption.
