If one believes a senior Telugu Desam party leader, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will become India’s next Prime Minister in 2019 and another Telugu leader M Venkaiah Naidu will become the next President of India.
TDP member of legislative Council YBV Rajender Prasad told the reporters on Tuesday that the promise of special category status to Andhra Pradesh will be fulfilled only after these two leaders occupy the top most positions of power in the country.
Rejecting the allegations that the Centre had failed to deliver on the promise of special status to Andhra Pradesh, he said that two Naidus were doing their best to achieve it. “If we find fault with these two leaders then there can not be any hope for the state”, he said.
Rajender Prasad said that as Congress had promised the special status to AP at the time of the state’s bifurcation, it was for the party to strive to achieve the status.
