Following two deaths due to stray cattle menace in the city this month, Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh had initiated stray cattle catching drive here last week.
The MCC had caught 255 stray cattle during the first two days of the drive. In all, 140 MCC workers and 100 police personnel participated in the drive. But failing to accommodate caught cattle in the existing Gaushalas here, the MCC had decided to shift the stray cattle to UP.
At present, Chandigarh has two cattle sheds and a cattle pound.
