With an aim to get mileage from Modi’s chaiwala image, the State unit of the BJP will organise chai ki chaupal in 172 places spread over in 41 districts from February 12 where people will have interactive discussion with Narendra Modi over a cup of chai.
The main focus of the programme will be on riot-hit Muzaffarnagar and Meerut region. State BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak said party will launch ‘Chai Pe Charcha with NaMo’ (a discussion over tea with Modi) on February 12 when he (Modi) would be at Ahmedabad and will interact with public at 172 places in the State and will answer queries on various issues.
The programme is slated to continue till February 14. Modi will speak for around 30 minutes and later will take questions from common people gathered at the select locations, Pathak said. Each location will have conferencing system and lED TV would be installed so that the people could watch Modi, he said.
lucknow and Kanpur will have the highest 11 centres where this gupshup will take place followed by eight each in Meerut, Noida, Ghaziabad, Allahabad and Varanasi while Muzaffarnagar, Rae Bareli and Bareilly will have six locations each. Deoria will have five tea centres while Etawah, lalitpur, lakhimpur Kheri, Mahoba, Agra, Bulandshahr, Chitrakoot and Hamirpur will have 4 locations each.
Three locations each have been set up in Gorakhpur, Saharanpur, Etah, Jhansi, Banda, Rampur, Ballia, Pilibhit and Bijnore while two each have been set up in Chandauli, Mathura, Aligarh, Ferozabad, Basti, Shahjahanpur, Orai, Barabanki, Bhadoi, Fatehpur and Sitapur. Meanwhile, BJP would also launch Intellectual conferences in UP with the first one to be held in lucknow on February 11 in which Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar would be the chief guest.
