BJP national president Amit Shah said that the Narendra Modi Government in the Centre was working on the principles of ‘Untodaya’ by implementing policies meant for the welfare of poor as path shown by Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.
“Deen Dayal Upadhaya was a staunch advocate of building a country based on holistic development-which includes poor and rich. Modi’s government is working on these principles and is trying to implement those in letter and in spirit,” Shah said while addressing a function where a book on Different facets of Deen Dayal’s life were launched here on Thursday.

To buttress his point he said that Modi Government launched Ujjawala Yojana under which 1.20 crore poor women were given subsidised lPG connections. It was the initiative of Modi Government that allowed poor to open bank accounts under Jan Dhan Yojana. This is a path –breaking decision which has brought poor in the main fiancial system, he said.
“The teaching of Deen Dayal Upadhaya prompted us to male over 11 crore members. The onus is now on these members to spread the message of helping poor and downtrodden across the country. If we can do that it would be true tribute to deed Dayalji,” he said.
Governor Ram Naik, BJP senior leader lalji tendon and party’s satte president Keshav Prasad Maurya also spoke on this occasion.
later, Amit Shah went to party office and had a meeting with senior party leaders including UP in-charge Om Prakash Mathur.
