The Centre on Tuesday filed a review petition challenging the July 18 order of the apex court striking down the ambitious scheme of the Centre to hold a common entrance test for medical/ dental course in post-graduate and undergraduate levels.
The Government argued that the majority decision by two judges failed to take notice of several apex court rulings which allowed Government to ensure standards of merit in medical education as it concerned the much cherished right to life of the patient.
