The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday directed its Regional Directors to visit schools preparing Classes 10 and 12 results — to be announced shortly— to verify and conduct surprise inspections.
The Central Government’s largest school education board conveyed that a complete report duly signed by officials along with the soft copy of the documents be furnished to the Board by Monday afternoon positively.
Sources said while the Class 10 results is likely to be declared by next weekend, the Class 12 results is scheduled for a July end announcement.
This year’s Board examinations of Classes 10 and 12 were cancelled by the government in the wake of the situation turning alarming due to the second wave of Covid-19.
The announcement by the Centre made all other educational boards including the ICSE to cancel the secondary board examinations and sought approval from the Supreme Court about their respective formula to declare the results. However, few States like Bihar, Kerala had already conducted their board examinations and even declared results before the State wise lockdown over pandemic cases started in April.
“All Regional Directors/Officers of the Board are requested to visit the schools to verify the work done by the schools under their jurisdiction. In addition, senior officers of the Regional Office may also be instructed to visit the schools for the said purpose,” the CBSE conveyed in an order to Regional Directors.
