The CBI on Wednesday continued with its search operation against former Noida Chief Engineer Yadav Singh who is facing probe in two separate cases of corruption and possession of disproportionate assets. The agency searched his residence at Sector 51 in Noida.
CBI sleuths reached Singh’s residence, which was found locked and sealed by the agency on Tuesday, got it opened and started searches even as Singh remained elusive, sources said.
Searches so far have yielded incriminating documents including details of shell companies, bank accounts, financial transactions and some important official files relating to the cases handled by Yadav during his tenure as Chief Engineer of NOIDA/Greater NOIDA and Yamuna Expressway authorities.
The agency had registered two cases against Singh and his family members for alleged corruption and amassing assets disproportionate to known sources of income.
Several top builders and politicians of the area have come under CBI scanner following inputs about their regular interaction and transactional relationship with Singh, sources said. The agency had on Tuesday also searched the residential premises of Singh’s daughter Garima Bhushan, married to an IAS officer, at posh Butler Palace Colony in lucknow.
