The CBI on Thursday conducted searches at four locations in Mumbai at the premises of three accused named in an FIR registered in connection with actor Vishal’s allegations that he had to pay `6.5 lakh to get a certificate for the Hindi-dubbed version of his film “Mark Antony” from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
In its FIR, the CBI has named unidentified officials of CBFC besides three private persons whose premises were searched during the day.
The searches led to recovery of incriminating documents, CBI said. The agency has booked private persons —Merlin Menaga, Jeeja Ramdas and Rajan M — in the bribery case. Vishal said the bribe was demanded to issue the CBFC certificate for his film within 24 hours.
