The CBI on Wednesday conducted raids on the premises of a new chit fund company called Ramel Group. About 60-70 officers raided 18 offices of Ramel, sources said.
The CBI is investigation the larger conspiracy angle in the Saradha and other chit fund scams. Till now the Agency has raided a number of chit fund offices including those belonging to Saradha, Rose Valley, Angel Agritech etc.
Ramel company allegedly dealt with several thousand crores and the CBI is trying to investigate whether any influential person is involved in the scam or not, sources said. The Wednesday’s development came a couple of days after the ED seized properties belonging to pro-TMC painter Subhaprasanna, Matang Singh and others.
