CBI probe sought over attack on advocate

Senior Supreme Court lawyer and AAP candidate from ludhiana, HS Phoolka on Monday visited Hargun Hospital, Amritsar, to express his support to Advocate Vaneet Mahajan who was grievously injured in an attack on him and his brother by alleged goons led by a BJP councillor.

Phoolka said he was extremely sad and shocked at the increase in heinous crimes and hooliganism in Punjab. He said the only fault of the advocate was that he acted sincerely in national interest and raised his voice against the constitutional violation by Cabinet Minister Anil Joshi of getting himself and his family registered as voters at three places. Talking to the media, Phoolka said as the case was related to a high profile Cabinet Minister of the State, it should be handed over to the CBI immediately so as to ensure fair probe.

“Anil Joshi has no faith in the constitution of India which is amply clear as first he indulged in double voting and now he engineered a brutal attack on an advocate who is fighting a legal battle against him to save democracy. Such a person has no right to hold the office of Cabinet Minister and thus, he should resign from ministership on moral grounds,” the AAP leader said.
