CBI makes effort to get info from arrested cops

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is making efforts to extract information from the two cops arrested in connection with the Unnao rape case as to who provided them a country made revolver which was later shown from the possession of the rape victim’s father after registering two cases.

“We are trying to confirm as to who provided the handgun to the then Station Officer of Makhi Police Station, Ashok Singh Bhadauriya and sub-inspector Kamta Prasad Singh, which was later ‘recovered’ from the possession of the victim’s father,” said a CBI officials who quizzed the two cops. The custody remand of the two cops was extended by three more days by the court. Interestingly, MlA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, who is also in police remand, tried to plead his innocence claiming that he was in touch with the local police and senior officers just to know the details of the incident and did not use his clout to bail out his brother Atul Singh Sengar. Atul is in Unnao jail in connection with the murder.

The cops also are likely to grill the then SP of Unnao, Pushpanjali. The investigations revealed that the MlA and a crony met the top cop on the fateful night at her residence regarding the case. Earlier, some audio tapes containing conversation between the MlA and the victim’s uncle also revealed that how Sengar threatened him if the cases against him and his brother were not withdrawn. Yet, Sengar tried to plead that he was just taking details and not pressuring anyone including the local police.
