The CBI on Friday chargesheeted two former Chief Commercial Managers (Catering) of Northern Railways and CEO and Director two city-based private firms and nine private firms based at Delhi, Mumbai and Bhopal for criminal conspiracy, cheating and corruption.
The accused persons allegedly caused a loss of about `19.55 crore to the Northern Railways.
Those named in the chargesheet include former CCMs MS Chhalia and Sandeep Silas and CEO of RK Associates Rajeev Mittal and Director of RK Associates and Hoteliers Pvt ltd Sharan Bihari Aggarwal. The nine named firms include RK Associates, RK Associates and Hoteliers, Ambuj Hotels Pvt. ltd., PK Associates, Sunshine Caterers, Vrandavan Foods, Food World, Doon Caterers and RD Sharma and Sons Pvt. ltd.
Investigation has revealed that during the period from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2014, the licensee caterers allegedly did not pick up Rail Neer as per quota prescribed by IRCTC and supplied other cheap brands of PDW against rules. They had allegedly claimed reimbursement from Northern Railways as was prescribed for supply of Rail Neer.
