CBI conducts raids at multiple locations

The war of words, allegations and counter-allegations raged for the second consecutive day on Sunday between the BJP and Congress over the CBI raids at multiple locations in Haryana in connection with questionable allotment of coveted industrial plots during former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda regime.

Firing a direct salvo at the former CM, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Sunday said that those who have been boasting in the Vidhan Sabha that they are ready to face any kind of investigation, are now terming the investigation into the allotment of plots in the industrial area, Panchkula, as an act of revenge.

A day before, Hooda had termed the move as “personal vendetta”. “The CBI may probe the matter, but I have not done anything wrong,” Hooda had said. Hitting back at Hooda, Manohar lal said, “ The CBI is an independent investigation agency and it works on its own. law would take its own

course and those found guilty would be punished.” He added that the action would be initiated against those who would go against the rules.

The Central Bureau of Investigation has taken over the case of alleged corruption registered against former CM Hooda, who was chairman of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA), and others in connection with “irregular” allocation of 14 Panchkula industrial plots in 2012. After registering the case on May 16, searches were conducted by CBI at 16 locations in New Delhi, Faridabad, Gurgaon, Chandigarh and Rohtak.
