Cashless transactions not possible in rural areas: Akhilesh

Published on:

Raising question on efficacy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s e-wallet and cashless transaction initiatives, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said making cashless society in urban area and among the youths through Digital India could be done but how it would reach in rural and remote areas.

“How these initiatives of cashless transaction would reach in the remote village and who would be teaching villagers about it. Why not Central Government reveals the preparations for itIJ But the Samajwadi Party (SP) Government has distributed laptops across the State and now smart phones would be distributed for which 1 crore registration are being done so far,” said the CM after inaugurating the Husainabad Heritage Walk Zone and laid foundation stone for Husainabad Museum on Sunday.

Attacking Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) on Demonetisation, he said the Central Government has engaged the countrymen at the banks and the deposits of ‘Bahu-Beti’ were dragged out to the bank accounts. Even the yatras failed to attract the crowd as their own partymen were lined up at the banks. “The political parties should know one thing that the Government which gives pain to the public, the people does not take much time to remove it from power. They are holding programs in the State just because of elections despite the fact they have not done development here,” he added.

Without naming the BSP Superemo Mayawati, the CM said some will give statement that half completed projects were inaugurated by Akhilesh Yadav. The ‘Pattharwali Sarkaar’ could not do any development. The elephant statues installed in Smaraks didn’t move an inch in past nine years. The statues in sitting postures did not stood up. It is a party which does not prepare any manifesto.

Praising the development work done in his regime, Akhilesh said our government worked for the people without any discrimination. In Samajwadi pension scheme nearly 50 lakh women were benefited. Be it, development of roads, electricity or infrastructure none could level allegation on Samajwadi Party. “It was our Government which provided 24 hours electricity in the urban areas and those talking of more need 26 hours in a day, which is impossible,” he added.

Speaking about restoration of Husainabad Heritage Zone, the CM pledge to continue the beautification of the old city areas especially heritage sites. Apart from the State capital, lucknow is a political capital too and here Samajwadi Party won many seven assembly seats for the first time and it was our party which did most development works in old city areas.

Taking a jibe at Samajwadi Party (SP) MlC Bukkal Nawab about the challenge he made earlier, he said “I would not remind you about the challenge given about something or else it would create a problem. Now we have completed the re-development of heritage zone in the given time and he should fulfill the challenge he made over phone sometime back”.

Earlier, MlC Bukkal Nawab challenged that re-development project could not be completed on time and if it would happened he would resign from the post.

On the occasion, Cabinet Ministers-Rajendry Chowdhary and Abhishek Mishra, Imam-e-Eidgah Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firhangi Mahali, Mahant Divyagiri, Principal Secretary Housing Sadakant, lDA VC Dr Anoop Kumar Yadav, District Magistrate Satyendra Singh-were present.
