In another major breakthrough in the Burdwan blast case, the NIA on Thursday arrested a member of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh ultra for his alleged involvement in last year’s Burdwan’s Khagragarh blast case. “Nurul Haque who is a trained member of JMB andwas involved in collection of funds for the outfit” wasarrested from near Howrah Station DIG, Investigations Anurag Thakur said.

Two JMB terrorists were on October 2, 2014 killed following an accidental blast at Khagragarh, a locality in Burdwan. The blast threw the lid off a huge conspiracy hatched by the JMB activists inside India to assassinate top Bangladesh leaders. It also unearthed a terror network that had been working in districts like Murshidabad, Burdwan, Malda, Birbhum and Nadia. The investigations carried out by NIA revealed that the terrorists had links not only in India’s neighbouring countries but also in West Asia.
