The Budget Session of the Parliament will be held from June 17 till July 26, wherein the regular Budget will be presented by the newly appointed Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on July 5.
The first two days will begin with the swearing of all MPs, presided by a Pro-tem Speaker, who is expected to be the senior most MP. The new Speaker will be elected on July 19 and the President will address the joint session of the Parliament on June 20, said the new Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar.
The dates of the session were discussed at the first Cabinet meeting of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led dispensation which was sworn in on Thursday. The interim Budget for the year 2019-20 was presented by then Finance Minister Piyush Goyal on February 1, 2019.
