The Bahujan Samaj Party expelled legislator from Sahibabad segment of Ghaziabad Amarpal Sharma from the party on charges of indiscipline and anti-party activities on Monday.
Sharma who was earlier slated to contest as party candidate from the same seat was given marching orders a day before the notification of the Assembly polls.
Confirming Sharma’s expulsion, a Press release issued on the behalf of BSP’s Ghaziabad district president Premchand Bhartiya said, “Sharma was not giving enough time to the constituency which caused anger and frustration among party cadres. Besides, he was not taking interest in party activities like meetings and cadre camps and was mostly spending time in Delhi for personal work.”
BSP sources said that the BSP brass was upset after learning that Sharma, was taking more interest and working secretly in support of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh’s son Pankaj Singh, who is likely to contest from Sahibabad seat which is dominated by the Thakur community.
The party had warned Sharma but now with elections being round the corner, the BSP brass command decided to do away with the legislator to avoid further indiscipline in the outfit.
