IAF chief NAK Browne will discuss the entire gamut of bilateral defence relations with South Korea during his four-day visit to Seoul starting Monday. He had postponed the visit by a week due to ongoing rescue and relief operations in Uttarakhand.

leading a composite delegation of officers from the three services, Browne will review the ongoing relations with South Korea and explore ways to further enhance defence co-operation, officials said on Sunday.

During the visit, Browne will call on South Korean Defence Minister Kim Kwan-Jin and would also be meeting the senior military leadership of that country including Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) General Jung Seung-jo.

He will also visit the Second Fleet Command located at Pyeongtaek, Republic of Korea Air Force Academy, located at Cheongju, Chungbuk as well as the 17th Fighter Wing based at Cheongju, Daegu.

Defence Minister AK Antony had visited Seoul two years back to strengthen defence ties with that country.

The two countries are trying to expand their military hardware co-operation and South Korea had offered a basic trainer aircraft for IAF’s requirement but its product was rejected in the tender stage by the force.
