The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been awarded with the HUDCO Award for the year 2017-18.
The BMC has been facilitated under the 'Sanitation Theme', category of solid waste management and Cost effective, Eco-friendly, Innovative sanitation solutions. For the provision of Smart Bin with the establishment of Real Time Vehicle Tracking (RTVT) and Fuel Trekking System (FTS) in the garbage vehicles especially for solid waste management, the BMC received the award.
It is to be noted that continuous work is being done to provide better facilities to the citizens of the city by the BMC. Continuous efforts are also being made to strengthen cleanliness and solid waste management system. Under these efforts, fuel tracking system has been set up to control the consumption of real time vehicle tracking systems and vehicles, with continuous monitoring of nearly 500 vehicles attached to garbage transportation in the city and increasing their work efficiency.
