It was sheer bad luck for a dacoit as he could not make escape despite some goons exploded crude bombs on the Civil Court premises in Hajipur on Tuesday to free him when he was being produced before the court.
Though the dacoit, Sant lal Sah tried to escape by hiding in an isolated place of the court premises, he could not dodge the police personnel who immediately swung into action to nab the gangster. Superintendent of Police Hajipur, Suresh Choudhary said that the criminals exploded two bombs to free the dacoit who was brought from the jail to appear before the court.
Criminals made abortive attempts to liberate the dacoit from the clutches of police personnel as soon as the police van carrying prisoners reached the Civil Court premises. They reached the Civil Court premises on a motorbike and managed to escape from the spot after committing the crime.
One live bomb was also recovered from the spot, the police have detained two people, Devanand Rai and Mahavidya Singh, for questioning. The lady, however, alleged that she was unnecessarily harassed by the police personnel as she had visited the court to give food packet to her son who is also under police custody.
