'BJP's sinister game plan exposed'

A day after two JD(U) candidates won Rajya Sabha seats, party leader and former Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday emphatically said that the sinister game plan of the BJP has been exposed in this bypoll. Kumar also declared that beginning of a new political realignment in Bihar’s political spectrum has begun to counter the BJP.

“In this poll process the sinister design of the BJP game plan has been thoroughly exposed. After the lok Sabha polls, the BJP has been basking in arrogance and indulged in all sorts of conspiracy but despite all they have been defeated,” said Kumar while addressing mediapersons at party headquarters.

He also said that before the Rajya Sabha bypoll he had appealed to the RJD, Congress, CPI and Independent candidates to support the JD(U) candidates to “defeat the evil design if BJP”. “And, I’m thankful to all of them that they voted for the JD(U) candidates,” he said.“The RJD MlAs took right decision under laluji’s guidance. Most of the MlAs in this poll proved that they will follow only party line and would not be bribed,” said Kumar.

The former Chief Minister also said that the way the BJP leaders and the two Independent candidates blamed lalu Prasad for betrayal, it showed that they were even in touch with the RJD MlAs to split the party. “Jis tarah se MlAs ko approach kar rahe the, pralobhan de rahe the aisa kabhi nahi hua tha Bihar ke rajniti mein,” charged Kumar.

“I’d like to ask them is it the way acchhe din are comingIJ” mocked Kumar while adding that now the beginning of the end of the BJP has begun in the State. “Yes, there is a need of realignment to counter the BJP. Possibility of wide realignment of political forces keep opening up and now it has started in the State,” said Kumar referring to RJD’s support to his party’s candidates in the RS bypoll.

“Yes, it will also be continued in future,” he said emphatically.Significantly, out of total 16 Rajya Sabha members (12 JD(U) and four BJP) from the Bihar, six are from outside the State, five of them from the ruling party JD(U). RS members Harivansh, KC Tyagi, Ghulam Rasool Baliyawi and Pawan Verma are from neighboring Uttar Pradesh while Sharad Yadav is from Madhya Pradesh while one MP from BJP Dharmendra Pradhan is from Odisha.

Meanwhile, the Congress party has asked its State party leaders to get all the details of the two party MlAs who did cross-voting in the bypoll on Thursday. Along with 18 JD(U) and three from RJD, two of the Congress MlAs Tauseef Alam and Afaque Alam from Bahadurganj and Kasba Assembly constituencies in Kishanganj had voted for two Independent candidates.

However, the defeat of the BJP and rebel JD(U) supported Independent candidates has not deflated the confidence of rebel ruling party MlAs as altogether 19 of them held separate meeting on Friday at the residence of Gyanendra Singh Gyanu, who is spearheading the rebellion in the party.

“Now we’ll travel all over to Bihar and expose Nitish Kumar’s dictatorial style of functioning and his unholy alliance with the RJD. Our number is going to improve in coming days,” said the rebel leader Gyanendra Singh Gyanu. The two Independent candidates Anil Sharma and Shabir Ali too were present at the meeting.
