The Samajwadi Party’s decision to walk out of the Janata Parivar got an unexpected support from Bharatiya Janata Party as its senior leader and Union Minister Kalraj Mishra said that JD(U) and RJD had ill-treated the SP and what the party got in that alliance was peanuts.
“It is unfortunate that Mulayam Singh Yadav was founder of the alliance but both Nitish and lalu Prasad cold-shouldered him. He (Mulayam Singh) is a swabhimani (man of principle) leader and will never compromise on such matter,” Mishra told The Pioneer here on Friday.
He said that Samajwadi Party has a good presence in Bihar. In 2005 Assembly elections it has got almost 3 per cent votes and had won 4 seats. “I think Samajwadi Party was not taken into confidence during seat distribution and therefore Mualaym Sinmgh Yadav decided to walkout of the alliance and contest the forthcoming elections alone,” Mishra said.
