The humble tea glass will heat up the poll campaign for the BJP and its prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in 300 cities including 1,000 locations from February 12 when the party’s ‘Chai pai charcha’ (discussion over a glass of tea) is set to take off with the Gujarat Chief Minister himself participating in some of them.
Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj who on Monday launched the audio and video of the nation-wide programme said this is the first of its kind of campaign in the world which would help party reach about five crore people. Taking off from where perhaps `Aam Admi party` left in their effort to use social media, the BJP has attempted to converge DTH, Satellite, internet, mobile phones and social media to reach people while organising “Chai pai charcha”.
Modi would launch it in Ahmedabad on February 12 and all other senior party leaders would be present in different cities doing “Chai pai charcha”. The campaign would also highlight the fact that BJP’s prime ministerial candidate had a humble beginning when he sold tea in his brother’s tea shop.
