Morality sermon for Hemant Soren
The upbeat BJP on Sunday reiterated that it would not pull down the lame duck JMM-led Government and instead wait for Hemant Soren to tender resignation owning to moral responsibility for the disastrous performance of the UPA Government in the State.
“This Government has already fallen in the eyes of the people. We will not ask for resignation but would go to the people and inform them about the way the Government is functioning,” said leader of Opposition Arjun Munda while addressing the media.
It is being speculated that the incumbent Government has slipped into minority after several of its MlAs quit their respective parties, i.e. JMM and Congress. A few others are also said to be dissatisfied and waiting to leave the JMM.
Moreover, much depends upon the mood of two supporting TMC members who are less likely to pull out after recent lok Sabha poll drubbing.
The JVM has even sought support of the saffron party and AJSU in grounding the discredited coalition Government.
The BJP’s stand apparently is to not to take blame for destabilising the Government immediately after coming into power in Delhi and instead let it continue to gather as much anti-incumbency as it can.
In any case, Assembly polls are due in Jharkhand in November.
The BJP nevertheless hit hard the Government for shelving several people-oriented steps taken under Arjun Munda regime and for indulging in the game of commissions.
“I can say that this Government is not going to work for the people. Mafias are active in power sectors and stalling the benefits of trifurcation and the works started for revamping transmission network. It is just going for unplanned development which is not benefitting farmers, poor, youth or women,” added Munda.
The BJP also lauded spectacular performance of the party in the parliamentary polls and announced that a ‘thanks giving’ yatra covering every constituency of the State would be taken up after oath taking ceremony in Delhi.
The initiative would also make the voters aware about their future political responsibilities.
