A total of 130 BJP workers, including party’s State General Secretary, Vanathi Sriniv-asan, were arrested on Tuesday when they staged a demonstration seeking immediate removal of a TASMAC liquor outlet here. The workers, including 30 women, raised slogans against the Govern-ment and sought immediate closure of the shop at Chettivee-dhi, located was near educati-onal institutions and also a place of worship. Srinivasan said the Govt was closing those liquor shops, which have lesser sales across the state. She wanted closure of outlets near educational institut-ions and places of worship.
