Before the arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Aligarh, a ruckus has been created in the name of Jinnah's portrait in Aligarh Muslim University. A Bharatiya Janata Party worker put the picture of the founder of Pakistan, Mohammad Ali Jinnah in a public toilet. However, it was removed after being informed. BJP said action will be taken against the miscreants.
On Monday, in a viral video, a BJP worker, identified as Shivang Tiwari, is seen putting Jinnah's poster in the toilet and trampling it with his feet. Tiwari is the media in-charge of BJP Vishnupuri mandal. Shivang Tiwari has demanded that the picture of Jinnah in the union hall of AMU should be removed. A few days before this, he along with his colleagues had also sent a letter written in blood to PM Modi demanding the removal of Jinnah's portrait from the Union Hall of AMU.
Tiwari put many posters of Jinnah in the toilet of Gandhi Park Bus Stand and made photos and videos viral on the internet media. Shivang says that this is the place for the poster of the person who broke the country. We will continue protesting till the picture is removed.
BJYM District President Mukesh Lodhi said that BJP is a disciplined party, there are many ways to protest, it should not have been done like this. BJP Metropolitan President Dr. Vivek Saraswat said that he does not know Shivang Tiwari. The executive committee of the Mandal is big, so such a name has never surfaced.
In the past, the matter has also heated up several times regarding Jinnah's picture in the Union Hall of AMU. BJP MP Satish Gautam had written a letter to the management to remove the picture from the hall, which was opposed by the students. Even after this many times BJP workers have raised the matter to remove the picture.
But the picture is still in the union hall. Under the pressure of the students, the management could not remove it.
