BJP in-charge for the upcoming Assembly polls in Gujarat and Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday express confidence over the saffron party’s victory by saying that the party continuously winning in Gujarat polls since 1995 and it is heading towards yet another victory.

Speaking at Gujarat BJP’s extended executive meet, Jaitley said development would be the poll plank for the party in the State Assembly election expected to be conducted in December this year. The Minister also criticised Opposition for spreading lies on actual development happened in the State under BJP  Governments over the past two decades.

‘‘Vision of Narendra Modi and the BJP for the development of Gujarat has become model of other States. Despite multiple challenges, the party won 2002 Assembly polls. We didn’t stop there as two more elections in 2007 and 2012 won by the party convincingly under the leadership of Modiji. In the previous three State Assembly polls, I was in-charge. This time too, I am overseeing the election process for the party and can foresee fourth consecutive win,’’ said Jaitley.

Praising the Prime Minister, he said that Modi had put the nation on development mode in the past three years. There was not a single charge of corruption against the BJP Government at the Centre, he claimed adding that even in Gujarat, the party has only one agenda — development — irrespective of who is leading the Government.

The meeting was attended by incharge of the party for the upcoming elections in the state and Union Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani, Deputy CM Nitin Patel, Gujarat BJP in-charge Bhupender Yadav and others.
