Claiming that the BJP will get absolute majority in Uttar Pradesh, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said both the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the alliance of the Samajwadi Party and the Congress were fighting a lost battle.
“BSP president Mayawati has started appealing to electorate on communal lines after she sensed her defeat in the elections, while the SP and the Congress forged an alliance as both parties have lost their mass base. In the mathematical terms both SP and Congress are in minus. Minus plus minus is always minus,” Singh said while addressing a Press conference on Friday.
He questioned as what happened to Congress’ slogan of “27 saal, UP behal”. “Did the party cut off the regime of SP from its 27 years of misrule in UP or it suffered a memory loss,” he further questioned. It was just an opportunistic alliance before the Assembly polls, said Rajnath, adding that alliance is not going to benefit anyone.
He even asked the relevance of Akhilesh’s ‘Kaam bolta hai’ slogan. How can he claim that he has done something for society because law and order situation in the State is very bad.
