BJP wants adequate security for NaMo

BJP's parliamentary board on Tuesday took serious note of the murderous attack on the BJP rally at Patna on October 27, claiming it was an attempt to liquidate the BJP leaders present at the rally.

"It was an attempt to inflict fatal injuries on the lakhs of people present at the rally. Had the leaders and the audience not acted with exemplary restraint, panic and a resultant stampede would not have been avoided," reads a statement on behalf of the board.

The BJP viewed this as an attack on Indian democracy and described it is a failed attempt to intimidate the party, which is attracting an unprecedented support from the people across the country.

"The BJP takes a serious note of the fact that both the Centre and the State Government of Bihar have been grossly negligent in providing adequate security measures which are commensurate with the threat perception faced by Narendra Modi," it said.

The party claimed the State police refused the protocol of Advance Security liaison (ASl) with the Gujarat Police on the pretext that the Central Government had not required this.

The recovery of bombs at the Gandhi Maidan and later at Ranchi, the BJP claimed, establishes that a well networked module of terrorist was operating in the region. It was an undetected module indicating an intelligence failure.

The BJP demanded that the Government take all necessary steps to provide adequate security to Modi and hoped that the Centre will not undermine Modi's security based on political and collateral considerations.
