In a major political revelation, Karnataka Congress chief Dinesh Gundu Rao has alleged that the BJP is trying to dislodge Congress-JD(S) coalition Government in Karnataka. He also said the BJP is trying to poach its MlAs as part of its game plan to destabilise HD Kumaraswamy-led Government in the State.
He told the media in Bengaluru on Tuesday that the BJP was doing all tricks to destabilise the coalition Government in the State. He said, “BJP is desperate and trying to bring down this Government. They are unable to stay without power, so they are trying to do all sorts of things, but they are not getting any success.
“...BJP is conspiring to create instability in Karnataka and nothing else.....they are trying to poach everyone by trying to lure them for power and money, but no one is paying heed to them...” he added.
Dismissing reports that some party leaders including Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi were in touch with BJP leadership, he said, they had gone to Delhi to meet Congress leaders to discuss various issues, and there was nothing wrong in it. Further, accusing the BJP of having tried to poach ”almost everyone” in the Congress party, he said “they have thirst for power. BJP people speak about values and principles, why are they indulging in immoral actsij”
Asked about opposition from within the party for an alliance with JD(S) for lok Sabha polls, Rao said, for the sake of country’s future, the party will have to tolerate certain things and move ahead.
“We are talking to everyone, we are talking constituency wise, we are trying to inform them (party men) about the reasons for alliance Government and joining hands (with JDS)....our aim is to bring down the Government at the Centre that is encouraging and protecting corruption,” he said.
“When there is a bigger target ahead of us, we will have to tolerate some smaller issues and try to adjust with it and move ahead,” he added.
